Dr. Palani is very understanding, caring and gentle. He knows how to talk with children and reassure them that everything is going to be okay. His shots are virtually painless and most kids do not even notice that they’re getting one.
We offer comprehensive services for children including sealants to prevent cavities and children’s root canals.
Your child’s first visit
Dr. Palani encourages parents to bring their children in for a visit when their first tooth comes in. This way Dr. Palani can make sure the normal growth and development patterns and tooth eruption patterns are occurring. A good way to get young children comfortable with dentistry is to bring your children with you when you come in for a cleaning.
Your child can sit on your lap during that visit and watch as you get your own teeth cleaned. This way, they’ll see dentistry isn’t anything to be afraid of. Then we’ll give them a tour of the practice so that they can become familiar with the office. We want your child’s first visit to be a fun experience.
Dental sealants prevent cavities
A dental sealant is a very thin, plastic coating that’s brushed on the chewing surfaces of the back teeth. The sealant prevents these teeth from developing cavities. As the sealant bonds to these teeth it protects them from plaque, acids and bacteria that can cause tooth decay.
Dr. Palani recommends that children get their back teeth sealed at an early age to help prevent cavities from developing. The procedure is gentle, easy and quick. And while the procedure takes just minutes to perform it can protect your child’s teeth for years.
